The Donoho School’s production of “The Little Mermaid Jr.” is well under way with nearly a month until performances. Our cast is working to get all of our lines and blocking memorized. In addition, the cast and arts program have collaborated to make some incredible set pieces thus far. In order to inform people about the problems with pollution in the ocean, our director Mrs. Burrage decided to make the majority of our set pieces using recycled materials. We have an amazing pillar of coral that has been made using melted styrofoam. Even the underlying wooden structure of this coral was reused from last years production of “Aladdin Jr.” Our palace backdrop is being made out of long strips of older fabric material.
Our production will be the first weekend of April. It’s sure to be a great time for friends and family of the cast.
Some of our main cast includes Haley Holmes (Junior) as Ariel, Slade Haney (Eighth Grader) as Prince Eric, Cory van Ekris (Senior) as King Triton, Griffin Burrage (Eighth Grader) as Ursula, Marshall Twigg (Eighth Grader) as Sebastian, Adam Stremmel (Sophomore) as Grimsby, and Carter Stremmel (Eighth Grader) as Flounder.
It looks like the play is going to be fantastic, so be sure to join us in support of the Donoho Arts Collaborative on April 6th and 7th.
