Golden Springs Tutoring Program

Sarah Green , Arts Co-Editor

Developed by alumni Richard Bateman ’14, the Golden Springs “Friends Through Learning” Program has become a Donoho tradition. In the program, Donoho juniors and seniors are paired with a student from the Golden Springs Elementary School. Once a week, the Donoho students tutor their elementary students in a variety of subjects from math to reading throughout the school year.

The Donoho tutors this year include the following students:

Juniors: Gillian Glass, Emma Wiedmer, Virginia Hutto, Campbell Hagan, Mya Keel, Savannah Frickey, Dalton Nelson, Hannah Salame, and Sarah Green

Seniors: Hall Billings, Emma Burk Owsley, Yash Patel, Blake Steed, Rhett Rigsby, Mahaley Tucker, Sarah Gibson, Madelyn Thompson, Jenna Stremmel, Annie Hillman, Whitney Seals, Harrison Hughston, Jacob Lecroy, Seth Ford, Reese McWhorter, and Camden Kitchen

The program is beneficial to both Donoho and Golden Springs students. It allows Donoho juniors and seniors the opportunity to practice their tutoring skills and help the community. Most importantly it aids the elementary students in their education. The Golden Springs Tutoring Program is a wonderful opportunity for Donoho students to serve their community.
